New fiction & DVDS in the Library

New DVD titles include: 17 Again (starring Zac Efron & Matthew Perry), The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, Revolutionary Road (Kate Winslet & Leonardo diCaprio), Coraline, spooky Spanish horror The Orphanage, the new Star Trek with Zachary Quinto from Heroes, indie hits Moon, Sunshine Cleaning and Frozen River, shopping comedy Confessions of a Shopaholic, Edinburgh-set thriller New Town Killers and I'm Not There for fans of Bob Dylan. We also have the complete box sets of Blackadder and Band of Brothers, as well as many other new titles.

In Fiction, we're getting our teeth into books about vampires: we now have the complete Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer and the Southern Vampires books by Charlaine Harris (now made into a TV series called True Blood). You could also try Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist, The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, or one of the Vampirates series by Justin Somper.

New service - Reserve a PC online or use the kiosk

You've told us that you like to be able to manage your own computer bookings, so we've made it possible for you to book a computer from home, or anywhere else that you have internet access, giving you more control over your learning.

We have also installed a kiosk located at the top of the stairs to the Library where you can log in to reserve a PC.

As with all Library services, you will need your student ID number from your student card to log in - note that this will only be effective after you have set up an individual password on campus.

Your new Library is now open at Hatfield Drive campus

And we're bigger and better than before! You will find 22 short-stay PCs to use without pre-booking, 32 long-stay PCs, and printing, scanning and photocopying facilities. We've updated our collection of fiction and DVDs, and you'll find everything you need in our academic book stock to help with your studies. Please ask us if you can't find what you're looking for and we will be happy to help.

We also have a comfortable seating area for reading the newspapers and magazines, and a dedicated children's area - take a seat on a beanbag and relax!

You can use our wi-fi service too if you bring your own laptop to college. Just bring your ID card to the desk and we'll give you a password to log in.

Your feedback about the new Library is very welcome. We have a suggestions box at each campus or you can speak to us in person or by email: library@anniesland.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing you soon.
